7-seater chauffeur cars in Dubai: Yukon, Escalade, V-Class and Carnival compared

In Dubai, Assure plans every 7-seater chauffeur car for 6 passengers plus the driver, so the luggage still fits. The Mercedes-Benz V-Class takes the most, about 4 large suitcases. The GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade take about 3. The Kia Carnival, Hyundai Staria and Citroen SpaceTourer suit shorter city runs with lighter bags.

Which 7-seater should you book? The short answer by group

For 6 people with luggage in Dubai, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class is the most practical chauffeur car, because it keeps a usable boot with every seat in use. A GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade suits 4 to 6 passengers who want an SUV. A Kia Carnival or Hyundai Staria covers short city trips as a people mover rather than a luxury car.

Vehicle Supplied by Passengers Large cases Cabin bags Rear doors
Mercedes-Benz V-Class Assure fleet 6 4 2 Sliding, both sides
GMC Yukon Assure fleet 6 3 2 Hinged
Cadillac Escalade Assure fleet 6 3 2 Hinged
Kia Carnival Assure fleet 6 3 2 Sliding, both sides
Citroen SpaceTourer Assure fleet 6 3 2 Sliding, both sides
Hyundai Staria Assure fleet 6 2 2 Sliding
Chevrolet Suburban Partner network, subject to availability 6 5 2 Hinged
Nissan Patrol Partner network, subject to availability 6 3 2 Hinged
Mercedes-Benz Vito Partner network, subject to availability 7 3 2 Sliding

Bag counts are Assure’s planning figures with every passenger seat in use. They are estimated from the makers’ published space, not measured, so send your exact luggage and it is checked against the car. Every car in the table comes with a chauffeur and is booked per transfer or by the hour as a car with driver.

Is a 7-seater really 7 passengers? Third-row legroom and luggage

No. A maker’s seat count includes the driver’s seat, and a chauffeur sits in it. Cadillac lists the Escalade for up to 8 seats in 3 rows. GMC lists the Yukon for up to 9, and the Yukon Denali for up to 8. Mercedes-Benz builds the V-Class with up to 8 seats, Kia sells the Carnival with 7 or 8, and Hyundai offers the Staria with 7, 9 or 11.

Assure plans each of these for 6 passengers. Filling a seventh or eighth seat leaves less room for suitcases, and in the SUVs it puts a third adult on the back bench.

The third row is the tightest place in every 7-seater. The makers’ own figures show it.

Second-row legroom Third-row legroom
Cadillac Escalade 1,060 mm 933 mm
Kia Carnival 1,029 mm 903 mm

Adults manage the third row on the 26 km run from Downtown to Sharjah. On the 139 km drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, seat teenagers or the shortest adults there. Keep the second row for the guests who need the room.

The Yukon and the Escalade are Assure’s own full-size SUVs, and they share a lot. Both have three rows, a high seat and room for 6 passengers. Both lose most of their boot once the third row is up.

Cadillac gives the standard Escalade 722 L behind the third row. Fold that row and the space grows to 2,064 L, but then the car seats 4 passengers. That 722 L is why Assure plans both SUVs for about 3 large suitcases with 6 aboard.

GMC Arabia sells the Yukon and the longer Yukon XL. It lists a rear-seat media system with 12.6-inch screens and Air Ride adaptive suspension as available equipment. Ask which features the Yukon for your date has, since options vary.

If you need SUV seats and more bags, the long-wheelbase versions carry far more. Cadillac gives the Escalade ESV 1,175 L behind the third row. Chevrolet quotes the same 41.5 cu ft, about 1,175 L, for the Suburban. Assure plans the Suburban for 5 large cases, through the partner network, subject to availability. All the SUVs are listed on our luxury SUVs page.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class: sliding doors and the biggest boot

The V-Class carries 6 passengers and about 4 large suitcases, the most of any 7-seater in Assure’s own fleet. Mercedes-Benz gives it 610 L to 5,010 L of luggage space, depending on the length and seat layout. It comes in body lengths of 4.90 m, 5.14 m and 5.37 m.

The sliding doors on both sides matter at Dubai’s busy kerbs. At a hotel entrance on Sheikh Zayed Road or a DXB car park bay, nobody has to swing a wide door into the next car. With the optional EASY PACK, the sliding doors and tailgate open and close electrically.

Mercedes-Benz also offers luxury rear seats with recline, massage and seat climate control, plus folding tables. They are options, so ask whether the V-Class for your date has them. Compare it with the other people carriers on our vans page.

Kia Carnival, Hyundai Staria and Citroen SpaceTourer: practical people movers

All three are in Assure’s own fleet and carry 6 passengers. They are people movers rather than luxury cars, and they are quoted as their own class. When the price matters, ask for a people-mover quote and a V-Class quote side by side.

  • Kia Carnival: 5,155 mm long, with 903 mm of third-row legroom per Kia UAE. Assure plans it for 3 large cases and 2 cabin bags.
  • Hyundai Staria: 5,253 mm long, with a 3.5 L V6. In the 7-seat Premium version, Hyundai UAE gives 431 L behind the seats, so Assure plans it for 2 large cases. The 9-seat version has 882 L.
  • Citroen SpaceTourer: Assure plans it for 3 large cases and 2 cabin bags, the same as the Carnival.

These suit the short hops: Downtown to Dubai Marina is about 21 km, roughly 20 minutes without traffic. They also suit a group staying in one district who travel light between a hotel, a mall and a restaurant.

A 7-seater taxi at DXB or a pre-booked chauffeur car: what is different?

Dubai Taxi runs vans at Dubai Airports. Its starting fare is AED 25 for a van against AED 20 for a normal taxi, then AED 2.62 per km and 50 fils a minute while waiting. At the rank, a Dubai Taxi officer directs you to a car. The Dubai Taxi airport page lists no way to reserve a van in advance. Our Dubai airport taxi fares guide works through the meter with real distances.

A pre-booked car works the other way round.

  1. You send the flight number, the passenger count and the bags.
  2. The chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a board.
  3. Dubai Airports has no pick-up area at Arrivals, so you walk together to the car in the terminal car park.

The car is chosen for your bags before you fly, not on what the rank has free. See how a DXB pickup works at each terminal.

When to book two cars or a Sprinter instead

A 7-seater stops being the answer once the group passes 6 or the bags pass 4.

Group Option Passengers Large cases
7 people, light bags Mercedes-Benz Vito, partner network, subject to availability 7 3
7 to 13 people Mercedes Sprinter 13-seat, Assure fleet 13 6
7 to 12 people, heavy bags V-Class plus Kia Carnival, Assure fleet 12 7
14 to 19 people Mercedes Sprinter 19-seat, Assure fleet 19 3

Two cars carry more bags but split the group, so agree a meeting point at the hotel. One Sprinter keeps everyone together, with fewer suitcases per head. For more than 13 with full luggage, pair a Sprinter with a V-Class. Group options start on our minibus rental page.

Child seats in a 7-seater: which rows take ISOFIX

Plan the child seats with the car, since they change who sits where. In a 7-seater, a child seat goes in the second or third row. RTA and Dubai Police rules keep children aged 10 or under, or below 145 cm, out of the front seat. Under-4s must use a child seat, and each breach carries an AED 400 fine.

Child seats are on request. When you book, give each child’s age and weight, and say which row you want them in. ISOFIX anchor points differ by model and seat layout, so the row is confirmed for the exact car. For the capacity of every car in the fleet, not just the 7-seaters, see our seats and luggage chart. To compare 7-seaters with sedans and coaches, go back to which chauffeur car to book.

Questions and answers

Which 7-seater should I book with a chauffeur in Dubai?

For 6 people with a suitcase each, book the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, which Assure plans for 4 large cases and 2 cabin bags. For 6 travelling lighter who want an SUV, book the GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade, at about 3 large cases. For a short city run, the Kia Carnival, Hyundai Staria or Citroen SpaceTourer does the job.

Does a 7-seater take 7 passengers?

Not with luggage. The maker's seat count includes the driver, so a 7-seat car carries 6 passengers. Cadillac lists the Escalade for up to 8 and Mercedes-Benz builds the V-Class with up to 8 seats, but every extra passenger takes bag space. For 7 passengers, ask for the Mercedes-Benz Vito, available through our partner network, subject to availability, or a Sprinter.

Can I get a 7-seater taxi at Dubai airport?

Dubai Taxi runs vans at Dubai Airports, with a starting fare of AED 25 against AED 20 for a normal taxi, then AED 2.62 per km. At the rank a taxi officer directs you to a car, and the Dubai Taxi page gives no way to reserve a van in advance. A pre-booked chauffeur car is waiting before you land.

How many suitcases fit in a 7-seater?

With 6 passengers aboard, Assure plans the V-Class for about 4 large suitcases, the Yukon, Escalade, Carnival and SpaceTourer for about 3, and the Hyundai Staria for 2. Hyundai UAE gives the 7-seat Staria 431 L behind the seats. These are estimates from the makers' figures, so send your exact bags when you book.

Can a 7-seater take a child seat?

Yes. Child seats are on request, so give each child's age and weight when you book. Per RTA and Dubai Police, a child seat is required below age 4, and nobody aged 10 or under, or under 145 cm tall, rides in front. Anchor points vary by model and row, so the seat's position is confirmed for your car.

Is a 7-seater a good choice from Dubai to Abu Dhabi?

Yes, for up to 6 passengers. The drive is about 139 km, roughly 1 h 30 without traffic. Put adults in the first two rear rows: Cadillac gives the Escalade's third row 933 mm of legroom, against 1,060 mm in the second. The V-Class is the pick when every passenger has a suitcase for an overnight stay.
