Where your driver meets you at AAN
Your chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall, after passport control and customs, holding a board with the lead guest’s name. VIP guests are welcomed personally by the chauffeur, who takes the bags from the trolley and walks you to the car.
Switch your phone on when you reach baggage reclaim. The chauffeur sends a WhatsApp message with the exact pickup point outside the terminal.
The airport is now Tahnoun International
Al Ain International Airport was renamed Tahnoun International Airport on 11 October 2026, by directive of the UAE President. The code is still AAN on airline booking sites, so your ticket may show the old name. The National puts the airport about 18 km from Al Ain city.
Which flights land at Al Ain airport?
Scheduled service at AAN is thin. At the renaming, The National listed two scheduled carriers: Pakistan International Airlines to Islamabad and Air India Express to Kozhikode. Check which days your flight operates on the airline’s own timetable before you fix hotel dates. The Al Ain airport guide adds background on the terminal.
If no flight fits your dates, you can land at Zayed International and drive in. Our pickup at Zayed International covers AUH, about 148 km from central Al Ain and roughly 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic. A DXB arrivals pickup is the other option: Dubai International is about 142 km from Al Ain, around 1 hour 45 minutes.
How far is Al Ain airport from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Jebel Hafeet?

Distances and times come from OSRM routing on OpenStreetMap, checked on 17 October 2026. The Dubai runs pick up traffic at the city end, so allow up to 2 hours at the morning and evening peaks. For trips between Al Ain and the coast without a flight, see private transfers between the emirates. For the Dubai leg, see Dubai to Al Ain.
After the airport
From AAN, central Al Ain and the Jebel Hafeet summit are both under an hour by road. If you land in the morning, ask about a private Al Ain city tour with the same car, so your bags stay in the boot during the tour. For meetings over several hours, book a chauffeur by the hour instead of a one-way transfer. Plan the mountain stop with the Jebel Hafeet guide.

Questions and answers
How far is Al Ain airport from Dubai?
About 141 km by road from the AAN terminal to Downtown Dubai, which takes around 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic. Dubai International (DXB) is about 144 km away. Allow up to 2 hours at the morning and evening peaks on the Dubai side. Both figures come from OSRM routing on OpenStreetMap, checked in October 2026.
How far is Al Ain airport from Abu Dhabi?
Central Abu Dhabi is about 148 km from the AAN terminal, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic. Zayed International Airport (AUH) is closer, at about 137 km and 1 hour 25 minutes. Your chauffeur drives door to door, so the drop-off can be a hotel, an office or a departure terminal.
Is Al Ain airport the same as Tahnoun International Airport?
Yes. The UAE President directed that Al Ain International Airport be renamed Tahnoun International Airport, with effect from 11 October 2026. Airline booking sites still list it as Al Ain (AAN), so your ticket may show either name. Give us the flight number and the chauffeur meets you at the same arrivals hall.
Which airlines fly to Al Ain airport?
Very few. When the airport was renamed in October 2026, The National reported scheduled flights by Pakistan International Airlines to Islamabad and Air India Express to Kozhikode. Timetables change, so check your airline before you book. If your airline does not fly to AAN, Zayed International (AUH) and Dubai International (DXB) are both under 150 km from Al Ain.
How long is the drive from Al Ain airport to Jebel Hafeet?
About 40 km and 50 minutes from the AAN terminal to the summit car park at Jebel Hafeet, without traffic. Central Al Ain is closer, about 20 km and 20 minutes from the airport. Your chauffeur can drive straight up the mountain road or drop your bags at your hotel first.
What happens if my flight to AAN lands late?
Give your flight number when you book. Your chauffeur follows the real landing time, not the scheduled one, and is in the arrivals hall when you come through customs. Free waiting time after landing is confirmed with your quote. Child seats are available on request: tell us each child's age when you book.
