Which zipline: the 2.83 km flight or the six-line tour?
Jais Flight is one long line, 2.83 km at 1,680 m. The operator bills it as the world’s longest zipline, and says it has carried more than 120,000 riders since it opened in 2018.
Jais Sky Tour is six ziplines from platform to platform, 5 km in total at 1,600 m. The top speed is 60 km/h, the tour takes about 2 hours, and the operator calls it family-friendly.
Both are booked with the operator. If you want tickets in your quote, tell us which ride and how many riders.
Who can ride: weight, height and what to wear
- Weight: zipline riders weigh 40 to 120 kg.
- Height: at least 122 cm.
- Via ferrata: has its own age and weight limits, which the official FAQ does not list.
- Children’s courses: the Bear Grylls Explorers Camp on the mountain is for children over 8.
- Clothes: comfortable outdoor clothing and sports shoes. Carry a jacket in winter, when the summit can drop below zero.
- Sun and water: the official safety notes ask you to bring both, especially in the warmer months.
Season, weather and closures
The 2025/26 season ran through April 2026. In late June and early July 2026, Visit Jebel Jais posted that the mountain was taking a short pause until the weather cools. Certain activities can also close in extreme weather.
That makes October to April the safer window. Before we quote, we check that the zipline, the Sky Tour and the restaurant are open on your date. For lunch at 1484 by Puro, book ahead, especially at weekends.
Ras Al Khaimah on the way back
Ras Al Khaimah city is 49 km from the mountain, about 55 minutes without traffic. The afternoon can include Al Marjan Island or the city before the drive south to Dubai. In the cooler months, a Ras Al Khaimah desert safari can fill a second day.
If you are staying in Ras Al Khaimah, Visit Jebel Jais lists a shuttle from Al Hamra and Al Marjan Island hotels at AED 15 per person return. If you want a private car instead, we confirm pickups inside Ras Al Khaimah per trip. If you fly in, see the arrivals pickup at Ras Al Khaimah International.
Further north, Musandam is in Oman and needs your passport.
Which car for the mountain
The paved road suits any car, so the choice comes down to group size. A couple fits in a Lexus ES 300h, and a group of 6 in a GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade from our luxury SUVs. Groups of 13 or 19 go in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
For another mountain day, Hatta is 183 km from Jebel Jais, so it works better on its own day. The Fujairah east coast is 147 km away and is also a separate trip. Our guide to day trips from Dubai compares them all. To keep the car longer for other plans, book a car with a driver by the hour.
The Jebel Jais guide covers the mountain. Chauffeur cars for Hatta and Jebel Jais covers the vehicle choice, and Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah covers the road from Dubai.
