A driver who follows your day
Most car bookings are one trip: a pickup, a drop-off and the car leaves. With a private driver you book the person and the car for the day, and the plan can change as the day goes.
- School runs: a morning drop-off and an afternoon pickup, with errands in the gap between them.
- Family errands: the pharmacy, a clinic appointment in Dubai Healthcare City, the weekly shop and a stop at the tailor.
- Shopping days: The Dubai Mall in the morning and Mall of the Emirates after lunch. Your bags stay in the car between stops.

How many hours one driver can work
Driver hours come from Article 17 of the UAE Labour Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021): 8 normal hours a day, 48 a week, and no more than 2 hours of overtime on any day. After 5 hours in a row, the driver is owed breaks of at least 1 hour. Ramadan shortens the normal day by 2 hours.
In practice, one driver covers a day of up to about 10 hours. The example day above sits at that line. For a longer day, such as a 06:30 airport run and a late dinner in Dubai Marina, plan for two drivers in shifts. Tell us the full span of the day when you ask for a quote.

Days that leave Dubai
A day that starts in Dubai can go anywhere in the UAE. Typical road distances from Downtown Dubai, without traffic:
- Sharjah: about 26 km, around 30 minutes.
- Abu Dhabi: about 139 km, around 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Hatta: about 109 km, around 1 hour 25 minutes.
- Ras Al Khaimah: about 109 km, around 1 hour 20 minutes.
The driver waits while you visit and drives you back the same day. If your stay is based in Abu Dhabi or Sharjah and the days start there, ask us to confirm the car and its licence for that emirate before you plan around it.
How to book a private driver

- Add the number of passengers, the ages of any children and roughly how many bags.
- Say whether the booking is for a family or a company.
- You get a quote for the car and the hours. Confirm it on WhatsApp.
- The driver arrives at the start time on day one, and each day runs on your plan.

Questions and answers
How much is it to hire a private driver in Dubai?
Assure quotes each booking rather than working from a fixed list. The price depends on the car class, the hours per day, the number of days, the distance driven and the time of day. Salik tolls, parking and extra stops count too. Send your dates, daily hours and pickup area on WhatsApp, and the quote comes back for the whole car, not per passenger.
How do I get a personal driver in Dubai?
There are two routes. You can book a driver with a car from an RTA-licensed chauffeur company such as Assure, for a day, a week or longer. Or you can employ a driver yourself. A personal or family driver is one of the 19 domestic worker jobs under Federal Decree-Law No. 9 of 2022, which means a work permit and a contract on the ministry's template.
How can I hire a driver for the day in Dubai?

Can you hire a driver to drive you around?
Yes, that is exactly what this booking is. The driver collects you, drives from stop to stop and waits while you shop, see a doctor or sit in a meeting. You set the order of the day, and changes on the day are fine within the hours you booked. The car comes from the Assure fleet or, for some models, through our partner network, subject to availability.
How many hours a day can a private driver work?
UAE labour law sets normal working time at 8 hours a day or 48 hours a week, and overtime may not go beyond 2 hours in a day. A driver also gets a break after 5 hours in a row. For a day longer than about 10 hours, such as an early school run followed by a late dinner, plan for a second driver.
Can the driver take us outside Dubai?
Yes, on days that start in Dubai. Abu Dhabi is about 139 km from Downtown Dubai by road, around 1 hour 30 minutes without traffic, and Hatta is about 109 km. The driver waits while you visit and drives you back. If your days start in another emirate, ask us to confirm the car and its licence for that emirate first.
What is the difference between a private driver and a monthly driver?
A private driver is booked by the day, for anything from one day to a few weeks, and you pay for the days you use. A monthly driver runs on a plan with set days per week and set hours per day, for families and companies who need the same cover every week. The monthly page explains how those plans are agreed.
