Trips from Dubai and trips that start in Al Ain

Assure is RTA licensed in Dubai, so a trip that leaves Dubai runs in our own car with our own chauffeur. That covers a drop-off at an Al Ain hotel, a day at the oasis and forts, or a run up Jebel Hafeet with the car waiting.

Al Ain sits in Abu Dhabi emirate, where the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) licenses taxi transport. We could not find a published limousine or chauffeur licensing rule on its site, so we state only what is confirmed. A pickup that starts inside Al Ain is arranged on request through our partner network, subject to availability.

How far is Al Ain from Dubai and Abu Dhabi?

Al Ain lies inland, about 1 hour 30 minutes from both big cities. The figures below are free-flow road distances and drive times from the OSRM route planner on OpenStreetMap data, both directions averaged. They exclude traffic and stops.

From central Al Ain to Road distance Without traffic
Dubai 136 km 1 h 31 min
Dubai International (DXB) 142 km 1 h 45 min
Abu Dhabi 159 km 1 h 32 min
Zayed International (AUH) 148 km 1 h 32 min

The Dubai end picks up traffic at weekday peaks, and we do not print a peak figure because it changes with the day. Tell us the time you must arrive. Our guide to road travel from Dubai covers the main roads and tolls, and our Abu Dhabi chauffeur page covers the capital end.

Al Ain airport and the nearer big airports

Al Ain’s airport (AAN) was renamed Tahnoun International Airport on 11 October 2026, by directive of the UAE President. Scheduled service is thin, so many guests land at Zayed International or Dubai International and drive in.

Your chauffeur follows the flight and waits in arrivals with your name on a board, and VIP guests are welcomed personally. Pickups at AAN are arranged on request. Terminal figures are on our Al Ain airport transfers page, and the capital’s main gateway is covered under Zayed International pickups.

Where guests stay and where we pick up

Al Ain is spread out, and a pickup point decides the car and the time. Three areas cover most requests.

Area Example hotels What to know
Central Al Ain Al Ain Rotana, Zayed Bin Sultan Street About 1 km from Al Ain Museum and Fort, so the oasis, fort and museum are close by
Hili, in the north Four Points by Sheraton Al Ain, Baniyas Street Linked to Hili Mall, and nearest to Hili Archaeological Park and the Dubai side
Jebel Hafeet Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet A resort about 3,000 feet up the mountain, with 124 rooms and suites

Homes and offices in Al Jimi and the other central districts work the same way. Send the address or a map pin, and the chauffeur confirms the route.

The oasis, the forts and the mountain

Al Ain Oasis covers about 1,200 hectares and holds 147,000 date palms. Falaj channels, the Al Aini and Dawood systems, still water them, and the free Eco-Centre inside explains how.

The oasis is part of the Cultural Sites of Al Ain, inscribed by UNESCO in 2011. The property has 17 components in four groups: Hafit, Hili, Bidaa Bint Saud and the oases areas.

  • Al Jahili Fort has a permanent Wilfred Thesiger exhibition and was restored in 2007 and 2008.
  • Qasr Al Muwaiji, a fort-palace of the Al Nahyan family, is free to enter, with a free guided tour on booking.
  • Hili Archaeological Park is free to visit and holds a 4 m Grand Tomb from about 2000 BCE.
  • Jebel Hafeet rises to 1,249 m on the Oman border, with a summit reachable by car and more than 500 ancient tombs on its slopes.
  • Al Ain Zoo keeps over 4,000 animals of about 200 species and is open from 9:00 to 18:00, with seasonal closing times.
  • Al Ain Palace Museum was listed as temporarily closed for renovation at the date we checked, so confirm it before you plan a stop.

Our Al Ain city tour strings the fort, oasis, museum and mountain into one day from Dubai, with stop times set out.

Limousines and groups

A Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series suits a wedding arrival or a business visit, seating 3 guests with 2 large bags. A GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade seats 6, and a Mercedes-Benz V-Class takes 6 guests with 4 large bags. The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in our own fleet carries 13 or 19.

Stretch limousines and coaches are available through our partner network, subject to availability. A start inside Al Ain follows the partner rule above. For one-way runs between cities, see our intercity transfers.

How to book a chauffeur in Al Ain

  1. Send the date, the pickup address and the time you need to arrive, on WhatsApp at +971 56 684 8148 or in the trip form.
  2. For a day hire, give the hours. For a transfer, give the drop-off in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Al Ain.
  3. Count guests and large bags, so we match the car.
  4. For an arrival, include the flight number. A pickup that starts in Al Ain needs a partner car, which we confirm before the quote.
  5. Reply to the quote on WhatsApp to lock in the booking.

What sets the price

  • The start point: an Assure car from Dubai, or a partner car for a start in Al Ain.
  • A one-way transfer or a number of hours.
  • The distance: 136 km each way from Dubai, longer with a mountain stop.
  • The car class, from a sedan to a van, a stretch limousine or a coach.
  • Salik tolls, if the route passes a Dubai toll gate.

Questions and answers

Can a Dubai chauffeur pick up in Al Ain?

A trip that starts in Dubai and ends in Al Ain runs in our own car under our RTA licence, and a day hire from Dubai can wait in Al Ain and bring you back. A pickup that starts in Al Ain is different. Al Ain is in Abu Dhabi emirate, so we arrange it on request through our partner network, subject to availability, and confirm the car before you book.

How long does Al Ain to Dubai take by car?

Free-flow OSRM routing on OpenStreetMap data puts Al Ain at 136 km from central Dubai, about 1 hour 31 minutes. Dubai International (DXB) is 142 km, about 1 hour 45 minutes. These figures exclude traffic, which builds on the Dubai side at the morning and evening peaks. Tell us the time you must arrive and the chauffeur plans the start.

How much is a chauffeur in Al Ain?

We quote each trip on WhatsApp rather than publish a rate. The price depends on where the trip starts, the hours or the route, the car class and the time of day. A one-way run from Dubai covers 136 km. A day that adds Jebel Hafeet and the oasis keeps the car for many hours, so the two quotes differ a lot.

Is Al Ain airport pickup available?

Yes, on request. Al Ain's airport (AAN) was renamed Tahnoun International Airport on 11 October 2026, though airline sites may still show Al Ain. Send your flight number, passengers and bags on WhatsApp. We confirm a partner car, and the chauffeur waits in arrivals with your name on a board. Few airlines fly there, so check your timetable.

Which airport is closest to Al Ain for a big flight?

Zayed International (AUH) is 148 km from central Al Ain, about 1 hour 32 minutes without traffic. Dubai International (DXB) is 142 km, about 1 hour 45 minutes. Both are served by many more airlines than AAN. A chauffeur can meet you at either arrivals hall and drive straight through to your Al Ain hotel.

Can I visit Jebel Hafeet with a chauffeur?

Yes. Visit Abu Dhabi lists the summit, at 1,249 m on the Oman border, as reachable by car. The chauffeur drives the mountain road and waits while you walk to the viewpoints. A hotel on the mountain, such as Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet, is a pickup point too, arranged through our partner network when the trip starts there.

Is Al Ain Oasis a UNESCO site?

Yes. The oasis is part of the Cultural Sites of Al Ain, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2011. The property has 17 components in four groups: Hafit, Hili, Bidaa Bint Saud and the oases areas. Visit Abu Dhabi describes the oasis as about 1,200 hectares with 147,000 date palms, watered through falaj channels.
