Madinat Jumeirah wedding transport: Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel arrival guide

Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel stand together in Umm Suqeim, about 15 km from Downtown Dubai and 9 to 10 km from Dubai Marina. Ask the Jumeirah events team to register your wedding cars before the day, agree one coach bay for guests, and allow 30 minutes from DXB.

Where are the Umm Suqeim venues and how do you reach them?

Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel all sit on the Umm Suqeim coast, off Jumeirah Beach Road. Madinat Jumeirah’s address is King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, Umm Suqeim, and the waterways look across to the Burj Al Arab.

Most wedding cars come in on Sheikh Zayed Road or along Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Beach Road. The table shows typical road distances and free-flow times, before traffic.

From To Madinat Jumeirah To Burj Al Arab To Jumeirah Beach Hotel
Downtown Dubai (Burj Khalifa) 15 km, 15 min 16 km, 17 min 14 km, 16 min
Dubai Marina 9 km, 13 min 10 km, 15 min 10 km, 15 min
DXB 29 km, 27 min 30 km, 29 min 28 km, 28 min

Allow double the free-flow time on a Friday or Saturday evening. Your chauffeur picks the road on the day.

Burj Al Arab: bridge access and registering the wedding cars

The Burj Al Arab stands on its own island. A private bridge joins it to the shore, and the hotel controls who crosses. A wedding car that is not on the list can be held at the gate while a guest, a florist or a photographer waits.

Do three things before the date:

  1. Ask the Jumeirah events team to register every wedding car, with plates.
  2. Send us the guest-list names that arrive by car, so the gate team can match them.
  3. Agree a drop-off point and a standing point for each car after the drop.

Confirm the bridge rules with Jumeirah, not with us. The policy is the hotel’s, and it can change by date.

Madinat Jumeirah: Jumeirah Al Qasr, Mina A’Salam and Madinat Arena

Madinat Jumeirah is a long site, not a single entrance. Jumeirah Al Qasr, Mina A’Salam and the Madinat Arena sit along the waterways, and a bride’s car may reach a ceremony space on the opposite side from the main gate.

Ask the events team three questions:

  • Which entrance does the bride’s car use, and where does it wait afterwards?
  • Is there a buggy or an abra for the last stretch, and who books it?
  • Does the Madinat Arena side have its own drop-off for guest cars?

For a full dress, ask for the entrance with the shortest walk. Our guide to choosing a wedding car covers door width and step height.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah Al Naseem

Jumeirah Beach Hotel stands beside the Burj Al Arab, so a couple can marry at one and photograph at the other without a long drive. Jumeirah Al Naseem is part of the Madinat Jumeirah resort, so use the Madinat entrance plan above.

Beach ceremonies mean the car stops at the hotel forecourt, never on the sand. Ask where the paved route to the beach starts.

Where do guest coaches load and wait?

Settle this first, because it is where wedding days go wrong. A coach that stops at the main entrance blocks the bride’s car.

  • Load point: the pickup hotel or the venue’s side entrance, agreed with the events team.
  • Waiting point: a bay or car park away from the entrance, with a mobile number for the coach captain.
  • Return time: a fixed time, printed on the guest card.

Our minibus rental fleet includes 13 and 19 seat Sprinters from Assure’s own fleet. Larger coaches of 35 and 50 seats come through our partner network, subject to availability. For small family groups, see van and group transport.

Photo stops nearby: Sunset Beach and the Burj Al Arab view

Sunset Beach is the usual stop for a Burj Al Arab photo. It is public, so the car park fills at weekends and near sunset. Send the photographer ahead to hold the spot.

Plan a stop of 20 minutes. The chauffeur drops the couple at the kerb, parks, and returns on a call. Ask your photographer for a second plan if wind lifts the veil.

Drive times from DXB, Downtown and Dubai Marina

The table above gives the numbers. Two rules help on the day:

  • Leave the hotel 30 minutes earlier than the map says on a weekend evening.
  • Keep the bride’s car 1 hour ahead of the guest coach, so the aisle is clear when guests arrive.

Salik gates sit on the main routes in. Quotes from Assure state whether tolls are included. For the whole wedding timeline, read the wedding transport planning guide. Palm Jumeirah ceremonies need different planning, covered in the Palm Jumeirah arrival guide, and Downtown ceremonies in the Downtown Dubai arrival guide. A chauffeur car for the day comes from our limousine service.

Questions and answers

How do wedding cars get to the Burj Al Arab?

The hotel stands on its own island, joined to Jumeirah Beach Road by a private bridge, and access is controlled. Ask the Jumeirah events team to put your wedding cars and their plates on the arrivals list before the day. Send Assure the plate and driver details we give you so the gate team can match them.

Where do the cars stop at Madinat Jumeirah?

Madinat has several hotels and a long waterway, so the drop-off depends on the ceremony space. Ask the events team which hotel entrance the bride uses: Jumeirah Al Qasr, Mina A'Salam or the Madinat Arena side. Your chauffeur then holds the car at that entrance and not at the main gate.

Where do guest coaches wait in Umm Suqeim?

Each venue sets its own coach bay and waiting rule, and the Jumeirah events teams decide it. Ask in writing before the date. Assure plans one drop-off, a waiting point away from the entrance and a fixed return time. Our minibuses seat 13 or 19, and coaches through our partner network seat 35 or 50, subject to availability.

How long does it take to reach Umm Suqeim from DXB?

About 27 to 29 km by road, and 27 to 29 minutes without traffic. Allow 45 to 60 minutes at the evening peak, because Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Wasl Road both fill up. From Downtown it is about 15 km and 15 to 17 minutes, and from Dubai Marina 9 to 10 km and about 15 minutes.

Can the bride's car stop for photos at Sunset Beach?

Yes, if you plan it. Sunset Beach sits beside the Burj Al Arab view, and public parking there fills at weekends and near sunset. Your chauffeur drops the bride at the kerb, parks and returns on a call. Keep the stop to 20 minutes so the ceremony time holds.

Do we pay Salik on the way to Umm Suqeim?

Salik applies on the main routes in, such as Sheikh Zayed Road. Since 31 January 2025 a pass costs AED 6 from 6 to 10 am and 4 to 8 pm on weekdays, and AED 4 at other times and on Sundays. Assure states in your quote whether tolls are included, so there is no surprise on the day.
