World Cup day at Meydan: gates and timings

Dubai Racing Club publishes a guide booklet for each World Cup. In 2026, public ticket holders entered through Gate 1 only, from 12:00. Hospitality Gates 2, 3, 4 and 5 opened at 13:00.

The 2026 card had nine races, from 15:45 to 20:45, and the Dubai World Cup itself was the ninth and last. The 2027 timings appear on dubairacingclub.com closer to the meeting.

  • Your gate: printed on your ticket. You collect a wristband at that gate, and security checks happen just inside it.
  • Ticket office: opposite Gate 2, open 10:00 to 21:30 on World Cup day in 2026.
  • Information booths: outside the Grandstand between the gates, open until 22:00 in 2026.

Where is Meydan Racecourse, and how do you drive there?

Meydan Racecourse sits on Al Meydan Road in Nad Al Sheba, south-east of Downtown Dubai. Dubai Racing Club calls it a 10-minute drive from the Dubai World Trade Centre; the table below allows about 20 minutes.

There are two main approaches. From Sheikh Zayed Road, exit D69 leads towards Al Khail Road and Al Meydan Street; RTA widened it from one lane to two in 2025. From the Dubai to Al Ain Road (E66), a bridge at Nad Al Sheba Street carries traffic towards Nad Al Sheba and Meydan.

From Road distance Drive time without traffic
Downtown Dubai about 11 km about 20 minutes
Dubai World Trade Centre about 12 km about 20 minutes
Dubai International (DXB) about 17 to 24 km, by direction 30 to 45 minutes
Dubai Marina about 25 km about 30 minutes
Palm Jumeirah about 25 km about 30 minutes

These figures come from OSRM on OpenStreetMap road data. On World Cup afternoon the approach roads fill up, so plan to leave earlier than the table suggests.

Is there parking at the Dubai World Cup?

Dubai Racing Club says parking is provided on site for those driving. RTA runs a separate race-day plan each year. For 2026, Khaleej Times reported RTA spaces for ticket holders and VIPs, plus free public car parks with free shuttle buses to the entrances.

The 2026 plan was reported the day before the meeting, and no road closures were announced with it. Look for RTA’s 2027 announcement in race week before you decide to drive yourself.

A chauffeur takes the car parks out of your evening:

  • No queue into a car park, and no shuttle bus back to it after the last race.
  • Nobody in your group has to drive home after a long day at the races.
  • No long walk in heels between a car park and your gate.

Where do taxis and chauffeur cars drop off?

The 2026 guide maps the admission gates but does not publish a drop-off map for private cars. Marshals direct taxis and chauffeur cars on the day, following the RTA plan.

Your chauffeur checks the plan before the meeting, drops you as close to your gate as it allows and sends you the return pickup point on WhatsApp.

Can you get to Meydan by Metro?

Not directly. Meydan has no Metro station. The closest are Business Bay and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall on the Red Line, each about 5 km away in a straight line on OpenStreetMap. The last leg is always by road, whether in a taxi, an RTA bus or a booked car.

What to wear on World Cup night

The dress code comes from the 2026 Dubai Racing Club guide:

  • Women: smart attire or national dress, with hats encouraged. Dresses and skirts fall just above the knee or longer.
  • Men: smart attire or national dress.
  • Not allowed into the Meydan Grandstand: shorts, sportswear, torn or ripped clothing, denim of any kind, open-neck t-shirts, tank tops, trainers and flip-flops.
  • Children under 12: neatly dressed and with an adult holding a valid ticket. Strollers are not allowed inside the Grandstand.

Transport options for World Cup day

  • Hotel or home to Meydan and back: a drop-off before your gate opens and a pickup at a time you agree.
  • Hourly standby: the car and chauffeur stay for the day, for groups who may leave at different times.
  • Airport and race day together: a meet-and-greet pickup at Dubai International arrivals, with your name on a board, then race day on the Saturday.
  • Groups: a Mercedes V-Class seats 6, and Mercedes Sprinters seat 13 or 19. Coaches of 35 and 50 seats are available through our partner network, subject to availability.
  • VIP cars: a Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7 Series from the Assure fleet. Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach models are available through our partner network, subject to availability.

Groups who want the car to be part of the evening can compare options on our limousine service page.

Booking for World Cup night, and what sets the price

World Cup day is a single Saturday, and many groups want luxury cars at the same hours. Book as soon as you have tickets, and earlier for Rolls-Royce models or a Sprinter.

Your quote arrives on WhatsApp. On race day it depends on:

  • How many cars you need, and which: a 7 Series, a V-Class or a partner Rolls-Royce.
  • Single transfers or hourly standby, and for how many hours.
  • The late finish: the last race started at 20:45 in 2026.
  • The pickup area, and any airport leg on the same booking.

Regular race nights at Meydan during the season

Meydan stages 17 race meetings in the 2026 to 2027 season. The Dubai Racing Club calendar shows race days from 6 November 2026 to 27 March 2027, most of them Fridays.

Ordinary race nights are quieter than World Cup day, and a single transfer each way usually works. If you are also going to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Al Garhoud, one booking can cover both. Other dates are on our events page and in the Dubai and UAE events calendar.

Our Dubai dress code guide is a useful companion for the evening. For the trip home, see Dubai rush hour and Dubai parking.

Leaving after the last race

The Dubai World Cup is the ninth and final race. In 2026 it started at 20:45, with The UAE Tribute at 21:10, so most of the crowd left at about the same time. Agree the pickup point and a time window with your chauffeur before you go in.

Your chauffeur messages you on WhatsApp once the car is in position. If your group stays on after the last race, send a new time, and the car comes back for it.

Questions and answers

How do I get to the Dubai World Cup?

Meydan Racecourse has no Metro station; the nearest, Business Bay on the Red Line, is about 5 km away. Most racegoers arrive by road. Drivers reach it from Sheikh Zayed Road on Al Meydan Street or from the Dubai to Al Ain Road through Nad Al Sheba. A chauffeur drops you on the venue roads, keeps the car off the race-day car parks and collects you after the last race of the night.

Where is the drop-off for the Dubai World Cup?

Dubai Racing Club publishes admission gates (Gates 1 to 5 in 2026) rather than a drop-off map for private cars. Your ticket names your gate. Traffic marshals direct cars on the day. Your chauffeur follows the race-day plan, drops you as close to your gate as it allows and sends the return pickup point on WhatsApp.

Is there parking at the Dubai World Cup?

Yes. Dubai Racing Club says parking is provided on site. For the 2026 meeting, Khaleej Times reported that RTA kept spaces for ticket holders and VIPs and opened free public car parks with free shuttle buses to the entrances. RTA announces each year's plan in race week, so check it before you drive yourself.

When is the Dubai World Cup 2027?

Saturday 27 March 2027 at Meydan Racecourse, according to the Dubai Racing Club race calendar and the Emirates Racing Authority season schedule. The World Cup is held on the last Saturday of March and closes the UAE racing season. Gate and race times for 2027 come out closer to the day on the Dubai Racing Club website.

Where is Meydan Racecourse, and how do you drive there?

Meydan Racecourse is on Al Meydan Road in Nad Al Sheba, about 11 km by road from Downtown Dubai. From Sheikh Zayed Road, take the Al Meydan Street exit, which RTA widened to two lanes in 2025. From the Dubai to Al Ain Road, the Nad Al Sheba Street bridge carries traffic towards Meydan.

What should you wear on World Cup night?

Dubai Racing Club asks for smart attire or national dress. Hats are encouraged for women, and dresses or skirts should fall just above the knee or longer. Shorts, sportswear, ripped clothing, denim of any kind, open-neck t-shirts, tank tops, trainers and flip-flops are not allowed into the Meydan Grandstand. Children under 12 must be neatly dressed.

Can the chauffeur wait for us during the races?

Yes, if you book hourly standby instead of two single transfers. The chauffeur waits away from the gates in the area the traffic plan allows and comes back when you message. Standby suits groups who may leave at different times, or guests going on to dinner in Downtown Dubai after the final race.
