How much does a chauffeur cost in Dubai? What sets the price

How much does a chauffeur cost in Dubai? It depends on the car class and on an hourly block or a fixed route. Distance, the emirates crossed, waiting, Salik and Darb tolls, parking, the date and extra stops then move the figure. RTA sets Dubai's luxury transport tariff above the taxi tariff. Assure quotes each trip on WhatsApp.

A Dubai chauffeur quote needs five answers before it has a number: which car, which day, how many hours, from where and to where. Each answer moves the figure, and this guide shows how and why.

Assure does not publish a rate card. Every trip is quoted on WhatsApp, and the quote lists what it covers.

How do Dubai chauffeur companies price a booking?

Every quote rests on two choices: the car class, and the unit you are buying.

  • Per route. One fixed journey, such as DXB Terminal 3 to a villa on Palm Jumeirah, with a set amount of free waiting.
  • Per hour. A block of time with a minimum, from a few hours for a dinner to a full day of meetings.

The regulator sets the floor. RTA’s conditions for passenger transport by luxury motor vehicles oblige each operator to follow the rate RTA determines. The tariff collected must be higher than the taxi tariff. So a licensed chauffeur over a given distance always costs more than a metered taxi.

Why does the vehicle class change the price so much?

The car is the largest single factor. Seats and bags below are passengers and large suitcases with every seat in use.

Class Example Passengers Large bags Supplied by
Business sedan Lexus ES 300h 3 2 Assure fleet
First class sedan Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series 3 2 Assure fleet
Luxury SUV GMC Yukon, Cadillac Escalade 6 3 Assure fleet
Large van Mercedes-Benz V-Class 6 4 Assure fleet
Large SUV Chevrolet Suburban 6 5 Partner network, subject to availability
Minibus Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 13 or 19 6 or 3 Assure fleet
Ultra-luxury Rolls-Royce Ghost, Phantom or Cullinan 3 2 to 3 Partner network, subject to availability

The class you need is set by bags as much as by people. Five travellers with five large cases overflow the V-Class, which takes 4. The choice is then a Suburban or two cars, and two cars means two drivers on the bill. Our fleet pages list every model with its seat and bag count, and the chauffeur car guide matches cars to group sizes.

Partner-network cars are confirmed against a specific vehicle for your date. That check comes before the figure is final.

Hourly blocks, half days and full days: how do minimums work?

Hourly hire has a minimum for each car class. If dinner at a DIFC restaurant takes 90 minutes, you still pay the minimum block. Your quote states three things: the minimum, when the clock starts, and the rate for each hour beyond the block.

Half days and full days are larger blocks of the same kind. They suit days with several stops, as the hourly-or-transfer comparison shows with three sample days.

Long days carry a legal limit. By law a driver’s standard day is 8 hours, plus overtime of 2 hours at most (Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021). A 12-hour wedding day therefore needs a change of driver partway through, and the quote reflects that. For sightseeing and shopping blocks, see car with driver by the hour or day.

Fixed-route transfers: what sets an airport or intercity quote?

Distance is the obvious factor, but it is not the only one. These are typical road distances without traffic, on OSRM.

Route Road distance Without traffic What else moves the quote
DXB to Downtown Dubai about 18 km 27 min Terminal car park while the chauffeur meets you
DXB to Dubai Marina about 37 km 42 min A very early or late-night landing time
DWC to Dubai Marina about 31 km 39 min Parking at DWC is free
Downtown Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah about 109 km 1 h 19 min The empty drive back to Dubai
Downtown Dubai to Abu Dhabi city about 139 km 1 h 28 min The Ghantoot Darb gate, AED 4 at any hour

Airports add a cost that taxis avoid. There is no pick-up lane at DXB Arrivals, so a chauffeur meeting you inside has to use the terminal car park. DXB charges by terminal, duration and zone, and free parking is offered only at DWC. Free waiting time after landing is set in your quote, and a long delay at passport control can run past it.

A one-way intercity run also prices in the return to base. Ras Al Khaimah is about 109 km away, so the car drives about 218 km to serve one trip. Every airport pickup in the UAE, with its meeting point, is listed under airport transfers.

What is included, and what costs extra?

The car, the driver and the driver’s time are always in the price. The rest varies, so check each line in writing.

Item What to ask
Fuel Is it in the figure for a trip that leaves Dubai?
Salik Are Dubai’s toll gates on the route included?
Darb Are Abu Dhabi’s gates included, peak and 24-hour?
Parking Who pays at the airport, the mall or the venue?
Waiting How many minutes are free, and what each extra hour costs
Extra stops Is a stop on the way priced in, or added on the day?
Child seats Is each seat fitted and confirmed in the quote?
VAT Is the figure shown with VAT included?

Darb charges AED 4 per crossing from 7 am to 9 am and 3 pm to 7 pm, Monday to Saturday, and nothing on Sundays and public holidays. The Ghantoot and Al Qurm gates charge AED 4 around the clock. A day trip to Abu Dhabi can pass several of these gates. How the Dubai gates work is explained in our guide to Salik tolls.

Which dates cost more?

On a few nights a year, demand sets the price more than distance does. Every operator in the city is serving the same crowd, so the earliest bookings get the widest choice of cars.

  • New Year’s Eve. On 31 December 2025, the Event Security Committee’s plan shut roads around the Burj Khalifa area in stages from 4 pm to 11 pm. More than 18,000 limousine and luxury vehicles were planned for duty. Plan the drop-off at the edge of the closures, and expect an hourly booking to run longer than a normal evening.
  • Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, 4 to 6 December 2026. Yas Marina Circuit is a 114 km run from Downtown Dubai, each way.
  • GITEX Global, 7 to 11 December 2026. Day 1 is the Summit at Dubai World Trade Centre. Days 2 to 5 are the Expo at Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City. Around DWTC, Parkin charges AED 25 an hour on about 200 spaces during events on its grand-events list, from 8 am to 10 pm.

Book these dates as early as you can, and ask whether event parking is in the quote.

Why do most companies quote on request, and how do you compare quotes fairly?

A rate card cannot hold every combination of car, hours, route, date and tolls. That is why most Dubai operators quote each trip, and why two quotes are often not like for like. Line them up on these five points:

  1. The same car class, or better the same model.
  2. The same unit: transfer, or hours with the same minimum.
  3. The same inclusions: tolls, parking, waiting and VAT.
  4. The cancellation terms, in writing.
  5. A licensed operator, named on the quote.

A low figure for a business sedan is not cheaper than a fair figure for an SUV if your bags only fit the SUV. For business days, compare against chauffeur service by transfer or by the hour. For occasions and first class cars, compare against limousine hire in Dubai.

What should you send for an exact quote?

One message with these seven facts gets an exact figure.

  • Date and pickup time
  • Pickup address, or airport and flight number
  • Drop-off address, or the number of hours
  • Passengers and large bags
  • Car class or model
  • Child seats, with each child’s age
  • Company invoice, if you need one

Paste them into WhatsApp at +971 56 684 8148. A ready-made template, and what a proper confirmation should contain, are in the WhatsApp booking guide. The wider picture, from licensing to car classes, is in hiring a chauffeur in Dubai.

Questions and answers

How much does a limousine service cost in Dubai?

It depends on the car and the unit you buy. A transfer is priced for one route, and hourly hire for a block of time with a minimum. A Lexus ES 300h and a partner-network Rolls-Royce Phantom sit at opposite ends. RTA rules keep every licensed limousine fare in Dubai above the taxi fare. Assure sends a written figure on WhatsApp for your exact trip.

How much is it to hire a limousine for 1 hour?

Chauffeur companies in Dubai usually set a minimum number of hours for each car class, so a single hour is often charged as the minimum block. The car class matters most: a first class sedan and an exotic from a partner network are priced very differently. Assure states the minimum, and the rate for each extra hour, in your quote.

How much is limousine hire per day?

Day hire is a single block of hours in the car you pick. Add tolls and parking on top unless the quote includes them. A Downtown Dubai to Abu Dhabi city round trip covers about 280 km and passes Darb gates, so it costs more than a day of stops inside Dubai. A day longer than 10 hours needs a second driver.

What is included in a chauffeur service?

The car, the driver and the driver's time are in every quote. Fuel, Salik and Darb tolls, airport and mall parking, waiting beyond the free period, child seats and extra stops vary from company to company. Ask for a written line on each one. Assure's quote states which of them are included, so nothing is added on the day without you agreeing first.

How much to hire a chauffeur-driven car per day?

Send the date, start time, car class and a rough plan, and a licensed company can give you a day figure. The plan matters because distance changes fuel and tolls. A day of meetings around DIFC covers far fewer kilometres than a Dubai to Yas Island round trip of about 230 km. Assure quotes day hire on WhatsApp, 24/7.

Is a chauffeur more expensive than a taxi in Dubai?

Yes, by rule. RTA's permit conditions for passenger transport by luxury motor vehicles require the tariff to be higher than the taxi tariff. The extra buys a pre-agreed price and a named driver. You also get a car chosen for your group and luggage, meet and greet at arrivals, and a car that waits outside.

Are Salik and Darb tolls included in a chauffeur quote?

Some companies include them and some add them afterwards, so ask. Darb in Abu Dhabi charges AED 4 per crossing in its peak periods, Monday to Saturday. Two of its gates, Ghantoot and Al Qurm, have charged at all hours since 4 May 2026. Salik gates in Dubai charge each time the car passes. Assure's quote says whether tolls are in the figure.
