Electric and hybrid chauffeur cars in Dubai: which models, range on long trips and booking tips

Assure's hybrid chauffeur car is the Lexus ES 300h, which never needs plugging in and covers any UAE route. Fully electric cars, such as the Tesla Model S, come through our partner network, subject to availability. Ask on WhatsApp for a specific model and date, because electric stock changes.

Which hybrid and electric cars can you book with a chauffeur?

Two cars matter on the Assure list.

  • Lexus ES 300h: a petrol-electric hybrid from the Assure fleet. It seats 3 in the rear with 2 large suitcases and 1 cabin bag. It is a full hybrid, so you never plug it in.
  • Tesla Model S: fully electric, available through our partner network, subject to availability. Tesla has ended Model S production, so ask before you plan around it. It also takes 3 passengers and 2 large suitcases.

The BMW 7 Series and 5 Series also come in plug-in and electric versions, through the partner network. Ask which drive the car for your date has. Our S-Class and 7 Series comparison covers the BMW i7 and 750e, and the wider list sits on the business sedans page.

Hybrid or electric: what changes for the passenger?

Hybrid (ES 300h) Fully electric (Model S)
Charging None, fills at a petrol station Needs a charger and a plan
Availability Assure fleet Partner network, ask first
Full-day runs No limit in practice Share the whole day plan
Rear seats 3 passengers 3 passengers

In the rear seat the difference is small. Both are quiet at a kerb, both have air conditioning that holds a hotel queue in August, and both take 2 large cases. The real change is planning.

Range on UAE routes: Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah

Downtown Dubai to central Abu Dhabi is about 139 km, so a return is near 280 km. Al Ain and Ras Al Khaimah are further out from Dubai, and a day with stops on either adds up fast. We do not quote an electric range for the cars we supply, because it varies with model year, speed and air conditioning load in summer.

The practical rule is this. For a single transfer, an electric car is fine if the partner confirms it. For a multi-stop day or a return, send the plan and let the partner confirm, or choose the hybrid. Our guide to the best chauffeur car for long drives goes through that choice route by route.

Charging in Dubai: the DEWA EV Green Charger network

DEWA reported in January 2026 that its EV Green Charger network had grown beyond 1,860 charging points across Dubai. That is for the emirate, so it says little about chargers on the road to Al Ain. Your chauffeur plans charging before the trip and does it between bookings, not while you wait.

Emissions reporting for corporate travel

Companies that report business-travel emissions need three facts per trip: the vehicle, the drive type and the distance. Assure can state all three on request for a corporate account. We do not publish emissions figures of our own. Take per-kilometre values from the maker or your reporting standard. Put the requirement in the contract, as the corporate transport RFQ checklist suggests, and see our corporate chauffeur service.

Dubai’s targets for cleaner taxis and limousines

The RTA board endorsed a plan in 2023 for a taxi fleet that is entirely hybrid, electric or hydrogen by 2027. Reports at the time put hybrids at about 72% of Dubai’s 11,371 taxis. The target covers taxis. It is a sign of direction for the city, not a rule that changes what a private chauffeur company must run today. We found no 2026 progress figure, so check the RTA for the latest.

Contract wording for low-emission vehicles

If your travel policy asks for low-emission cars, write it as a requirement with a fallback:

  1. Name the drive type: hybrid or fully electric.
  2. Say what happens if none is free: the hybrid, or a notice before the trip.
  3. Ask for the vehicle and drive type on each trip record.

Because electric cars come through the partner network, a promise of “always electric” is something Assure will not make. Ask for the hybrid as the default and electric as an option. Start from the chauffeur car guide, then send the requirement on WhatsApp to +971 56 684 8148. For other Dubai services, see chauffeur service and the full fleet.

Questions and answers

Can I book an electric car with a driver in Dubai?

Yes, but ask first. Electric chauffeur cars such as the Tesla Model S are available through our partner network, subject to availability. Assure's own hybrid is the Lexus ES 300h. Send the date, pickup and passenger count on WhatsApp, with a second choice in case no electric car is free.

Does the Lexus ES 300h need charging?

No. The ES 300h is a petrol-electric hybrid, not a plug-in. A 2.5 L petrol engine works with an electric motor, and the car refuels at a normal petrol station. Downtown Dubai to central Abu Dhabi is about 139 km, and it needs no charging stop on that run or a same-day return.

Is an electric chauffeur car suitable for Dubai to Abu Dhabi?

It can be, at about 139 km each way, but the partner should confirm that the exact car and its charge suit your full day. Share every stop and any return trip when you book. For a long day with several stops, the hybrid removes the question.

How many EV chargers does Dubai have?

DEWA said in January 2026 that its EV Green Charger network had passed 1,860 charging points across Dubai. Earlier reports counted about 740 points in late 2024. A chauffeur company still plans charging itself, so you do not hunt for a charger during a booking.

Is the Dubai taxi fleet going electric?

The RTA's plan, endorsed in 2023, is a fully hybrid, electric or hydrogen taxi fleet by 2027. Reports in 2023 put hybrids at about 72% of Dubai's taxis. That target covers taxis, not private chauffeur companies, so ask each supplier what it actually runs.

Can I get emissions figures for a corporate account?

Ask in writing. Assure can state the vehicle, the drive type and the distance for each trip, which is the data a business-travel emissions report needs. Assure does not publish emissions figures of its own, so use the maker's published figures for the car.

Are hybrids quieter than petrol chauffeur cars?

At low speed in city traffic, a hybrid often runs on its electric motor, so the cabin is quieter at a kerb or in a hotel queue. At motorway speed on Sheikh Zayed Road the petrol engine does most of the work. Do not expect the silence of a fully electric car.
