How do you get to Big 5 Global?

Dubai World Trade Centre sits on Sheikh Zayed Road. The organiser lists four ways in:

  • Metro: World Trade Centre station on the Red Line, 2 minutes from the venue. The organiser marks this as highly recommended.
  • Bus: routes 27 and 29 stop at the Novotel Hotel, next to the Convention Gate entrance.
  • Taxi: metered Dubai Taxi cars wait outside the centre. Careem is the show’s transport partner.
  • Car: DWTC has several car parks, shown on the organiser’s parking map.

A chauffeur-driven car adds a fifth: drop-off at the entrance in the morning and a pickup at a time you set.

Where do taxis and private cars drop off at DWTC?

The organiser names the Convention Gate, beside the Novotel bus stop, as an entrance. It has not published a separate private-car drop-off point for 2026. Your chauffeur uses the signed drop-off nearest your hall and sends the return meeting point on WhatsApp.

Seven co-located shows run in the same week, so tell your chauffeur which hall you start in. Our DWTC parking and drop-off guide covers the entrances and car parks in detail.

Is there parking, and what does it cost near DWTC?

Yes. The organiser’s plan your visit page links a DWTC parking map. The DWTC visitor FAQ lists covered car parks at Exhibition Street, Exhibition Plaza, Sheikh Rashid Tower, The Offices 1, One Central and Al Mustaqbal Street, and some free spaces opposite the Convention Tower. Valet runs only for some events.

On the public streets around the venue, Parkin’s grand-event tariff is AED 25 an hour, from 08:00 to 22:00, on about 200 spaces. The Big 5 was on the 2025 list of events that triggered it. Check Parkin for the rate in force in November 2026. With a chauffeur, there is no bay to find and no meter running while you are in the halls.

Traffic and road closures

The RTA has warned of congestion around DWTC during major events, with peaks from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00. Big 5 opens at 10:00 on most days and closes at 18:00, so both your arrival and your exit fall inside those peaks. We found no road closures announced for Big 5 Global 2026 when we checked on 17 October 2026.

Getting there from DXB, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi

From Road distance Without traffic
Dubai International (DXB) about 16 km about 26 min
Downtown Dubai about 5 km about 8 min
Dubai Marina about 24 km about 23 min
Sharjah city about 23 km about 25 min
Abu Dhabi city about 142 km about 1 h 30 min

Free-flow road times from OSRM routing on OpenStreetMap, checked 17 October 2026. Morning traffic adds time on every row.

  • From DXB: the shortest run on the table. An airport pickup at DXB can take you straight to the halls if you land on a show morning, bags and all.
  • From Sharjah: close on the map, but the morning roads into Dubai fill early. Build in a margin for a 10:00 opening.
  • From Abu Dhabi: about 142 km each way, so a daily return is a long day. Our Dubai to Abu Dhabi transfer page covers the route.

If you bring a team, our exhibitor team transport plan lists what to settle early. For timing, check Dubai rush hour and how Salik tolls work.

Combining Big 5 with project site visits

Big 5 Global is a construction industry show, and a car by the hour lets you fit project site visits around your hall time. Book a car with driver by the hour and the chauffeur waits at each stop.

From DWTC to Road distance Without traffic
Dubai Creek Harbour about 14 km about 17 min
Dubai Hills about 19 km about 20 min
Dubai South about 55 km about 55 min

Same OSRM source as above. Dubai South is close to an hour each way, so plan it for a morning before the halls or the Thursday, which closes at 17:00.

Options for Big 5 week

  • Hotel to DWTC and back: a sedan or SUV sets you down at the halls each morning and collects you after the 18:00 close (17:00 on Thursday).
  • Hourly standby: the chauffeur waits near DWTC, then drives you on to site visits, client meetings or dinner.
  • Airport plus venue: your chauffeur meets you in DXB arrivals with your name on a board, and can go straight to the halls.
  • Site-visit groups: a Mercedes V-Class seats 6, and our Mercedes Sprinters seat 13 or 19, all from the Assure fleet. For larger groups, coaches with 35 or 50 seats come through our partner network, subject to availability: see bus and coach hire.
  • VIP cars: a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series for directors visiting the show.

Contractors and consultancies sending a team can put the whole week on an Assure company account, invoiced monthly.

Booking lead time and what sets the price

We price each Big 5 booking on WhatsApp, from these details:

  • how many of the four show days you need, and for how many hours
  • drop-off and collection only, or a car on standby
  • site visits added to the day, and how far they are
  • the vehicle class and the number of cars
  • airport legs, or a hotel in Sharjah or Abu Dhabi

Book as soon as your badges are confirmed, and list any site visits with their areas so the hours can be planned. If the group needs a coach, say so first: coaches come from the partner network, subject to availability.

Big 5 week checklist

  1. Book your badge on the official site, and check that everyone travelling is 21 or over.
  2. Note which hall you start in, as seven co-located shows run alongside the Big 5.
  3. Send Assure your hotel, show days, start times and passenger count on WhatsApp.
  4. Plan Monday for an 11:00 opening and Thursday for a 17:00 close.
  5. Allow for the 08:00 to 12:00 peak around DWTC on show mornings.
  6. Agree the return pickup with your chauffeur before you go in.
  7. Group site visits by area: Creek Harbour and Dubai Hills are each about 20 minutes from DWTC without traffic.

DWTC holds its other trade weeks through the year too: see WHX Dubai and every show we cover on the events chauffeur page.

Questions and answers

How do I get to Big 5 Global?

Big 5 Global is held at Dubai World Trade Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road. The organiser recommends the Metro: World Trade Centre station on the Red Line is 2 minutes from the venue. Buses 27 and 29 stop at the Novotel by the Convention Gate, and metered taxis wait outside. A chauffeur drops you at the entrance and collects you at a time you set.

Where do taxis and private cars drop off for Big 5 Global?

The organiser names the Convention Gate, next to the Novotel bus stop, as an entrance but has not published a separate private-car drop-off point for 2026. Your chauffeur uses the signed drop-off nearest your hall on the day. Agree the return pickup before you go in, and your driver sends the exact meeting point on WhatsApp.

Is there parking at Big 5 Global, and what does it cost?

Yes. The organiser says DWTC has several car parks and publishes a parking map. The venue FAQ lists covered parking at Sheikh Rashid Tower, One Central and Al Mustaqbal Street, among others. On the streets around DWTC, Parkin charges AED 25 an hour from 08:00 to 22:00 on about 200 spaces during major events, and The Big 5 was on its 2025 list.

When and where is Big 5 Global 2026?

Big 5 Global 2026 runs from Monday 23 to Thursday 26 November 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre. The halls open 11:00 to 18:00 on Monday, 10:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 10:00 to 17:00 on Thursday. The 2027 dates were not announced when we checked on 17 October 2026.

How do you get to Big 5 by Metro?

Take the Red Line to World Trade Centre station. The organiser says the venue is 2 minutes from the station and marks the Metro as its highly recommended option. It avoids Sheikh Zayed Road traffic at peak times, though you walk from the station to your hall and carry anything you bring.

Can you combine Big 5 with project site visits by car?

Yes. Book a car and chauffeur by the hour and plan the site visits around your hall time. From DWTC, Dubai Creek Harbour is about 14 km, Dubai Hills about 19 km and Dubai South about 55 km by road. The car waits at each site and brings you back to DWTC or your hotel.

Can under-21s attend Big 5 Global?

No. The organiser's plan your visit page states that visitors under the age of 21 will not be permitted. If your group includes younger staff or students, check with the organiser before you book their badges or transport. Under-21s can still travel with the group to the hotel or project sites.

How long is the drive from DXB to Big 5 Global?

Dubai International to Dubai World Trade Centre is about 16 km, around 26 minutes without traffic. On show days the RTA has flagged congestion around DWTC from 08:00 to 12:00, so a morning arrival can take longer. For a 10:00 opening, leave DXB-area hotels with a margin, or land the day before.
