How far is Fujairah from Dubai, and which route do you take?
Fujairah is on the Gulf of Oman, on the far side of the Hajar mountains. From Dubai the city is about 120 to 130 km away, around 1 hour 30 minutes in light traffic. You leave Dubai on the E611 or E311, join the road through Sharjah and the mountain pass, and drop to the east coast.
Buses use a slower inland route through Dhaid and Masafi. A direct car trip avoids most of those stops. A second option, the tunnel road to Khor Fakkan, reaches the coast further north.
| Destination | Typical distance | Light-traffic drive |
|---|---|---|
| Fujairah city | 120 to 130 km | about 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Al Aqah beach resorts | further north up the coast | add 30 to 45 minutes |
Is there a bus or a train from Dubai to Fujairah?
RTA runs an intercity bus from Dubai’s Union station to Fujairah. It takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. Check the current route number, frequency and fare in the RTA app or on rta.ae, because schedules change.

Etihad Rail has announced passenger services, but we have not confirmed a train stop that links Dubai and Fujairah. Check etihadrail.ae for stations and launch dates. Our Etihad Rail Dubai to Abu Dhabi guide explains how to read the network for your trip.
Taxi fares and private car times to Fujairah city and the beach resorts
Taxis charge a surcharge for crossing emirate lines, and one-way long trips are slower to find at resorts. Assure private cars go from your hotel or the airport straight to the door and are pre-booked, so nobody has to wait at the roadside.

See our intercity transfers for how quotes work. For groups, vans and minibuses are available through our partner network, subject to availability.
Getting to Al Aqah, Snoopy Island and Dibba Al Fujairah
Al Aqah is a beach resort strip on the coast north of Fujairah city. Snoopy Island, a small rocky island off the beach, is a popular snorkelling spot. Dibba Al Fujairah is the town at the northern end, near the Oman border.
The Fujairah east coast tour links these stops with a driver. If you plan to cross the border or take a boat to Khasab, read Dibba or Khasab. For things to do in the city, see places to visit in Fujairah.
Fujairah to Dubai for a flight
The drive to Dubai International (DXB) is about 1 hour 30 minutes in light traffic. Leave at least 4 hours before an international departure. Drivers for airport transfers track your flight, and a late departure does not change the pickup address.
Combining Fujairah with Khor Fakkan or Masafi in one day
Masafi sits on the way, at the foot of the mountains. Khor Fakkan lies roughly 40 to 45 minutes up the coast from Fujairah city. A car lets you stop wherever the weather and your energy allow. Our Khor Fakkan guide covers the tunnel road, and the Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah guide covers the northern emirate if you continue that way.
