Quad sizes and who rides which
Dubai riding sites list quads from small 70 cc machines for children up to adult quads in the 250 to 700 cc range, such as the Yamaha Raptor 700. Which quad each rider gets depends on age and experience, and the operator has the final say.

Track ride or open desert
Listings in Dubai split quad rides into two formats. A short ride stays on a marked track or circuit beside the base, which suits children and first-timers. A longer ride follows a marshal out into the open dunes, where the climbs are steeper and the sand softer.
Many groups book both: a few laps on the track to learn the throttle and brakes, then out into the dunes.
Choose your slot
You pick the slot, not the operator’s van schedule. Sunrise at Lahbab comes at about 05:30 in mid-June and about 06:55 in mid-December, so the first ride of the day starts in cool air. From May to September, avoid the middle of the day. In winter, afternoon and sunset slots are comfortable too.
Your car to the dunes and back
A bundled quad package usually means a fixed van departure, with the ride squeezed into the van’s timetable. Book through Assure and the timetable is yours: leave when it suits the group, stop for photos on the way out, and the car leaves only when your last rider is back.

From Downtown, the drive to the Lahbab dunes is about 48 km on the E44 and E77, roughly 45 minutes without traffic. From Dubai International Airport it is 47 km. If the plan grows into a full day out, book the car as a car with driver for the day and keep it after the ride.
Safety gear and health limits
The ATV Safety Institute’s rules for riders start with the kit: a helmet, goggles, long sleeves, long trousers, over-the-ankle boots and gloves. Ask for a helmet that fits before you set off. The ASI also says to supervise every rider younger than 16, so a parent should stay at the track while a child rides.
Quads bounce hard over dune crests and the rider takes every jolt through the arms and back. Anyone who is pregnant, or has a bad back, should sit this one out or ask first; send us the details and the operator gives a yes or no before you pay. Combine it with a safari or a buggy
Quad biking pairs well with a morning desert safari in the same dunes, with a dune drive in a 4x4 and back by lunch. In the afternoon, ride first, then go on to the Dubai evening desert safari for sunset and camp dinner. Want the whole evening in your own 4x4 with nobody else aboard? Riders who would rather sit side by side, or take a younger child as a passenger, can switch to a 2-seat or 4-seat dune buggy instead.

Early flight into Dubai? Check-in at most hotels is mid-afternoon, which leaves a morning to fill. The chauffeur collects you from arrivals, the suitcases stay locked in the car at the quad base, and you reach the hotel in time to check in. How much does quad biking cost in Dubai?
The quote is built from the quad size, the riding minutes, the number of quads, the slot and the car. A 30 minute ride on the track by the base costs less than an hour behind a marshal in the open dunes. Four friends sharing a Kia Carnival split one car between them. How old do you have to be to drive a quad bike in Dubai?
Each desert operator sets its own minimum age, and we confirm it for every rider before you book. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission says riders younger than 16 should drive only youth models, never adult quads. Expect the operator to put children on a small youth quad, often on a track close to the base, and adults on the larger machines.
Can two people ride on one quad bike?
Only if the quad is built for two. The ATV Safety Institute says never to carry a passenger on a single-rider ATV, and no more than one passenger on an ATV designed for two people. Many quads sold in Dubai are single-seat machines, so check the seat count in your quote. If two of you want to ride together, a 2-seat dune buggy is the better fit.
Is quad biking safe for beginners?
Beginners are the usual customers. Start on the marked track by the base before you head into the dunes, and keep to the marshal's line and speed. Wear a helmet, closed shoes, long sleeves and long trousers. Tell us beforehand about pregnancy, back or neck problems, since the quad bucks over every dune crest and the operator decides who rides.

Add about 45 minutes each way between Downtown Dubai and the dunes, plus the kit and briefing. A 30 minute track ride from Downtown is usually back home within 3 hours.
Can I go quad biking in summer?
Yes, but pick the hour carefully. From May to September, book sunrise or late afternoon, never midday, when the sand is at its hottest. Sunrise at Lahbab comes at about 05:30 in mid-June, so a sunrise slot means a pickup in Dubai before 04:45. The ride is over before the heat builds, and you are back in Dubai for breakfast.
