Where can you park to meet arrivals at Terminals 1, 2 and 3?
Dubai airport parking for pickup works differently from most airports. Dubai Airports states plainly: “We do not have a pick-up area at Arrivals.” You park in a car park at any terminal and walk to the arrivals hall.

| Terminal | Car park | Walk to the terminal |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | Car Park A, Premium | 2 to 3 minutes |
| Terminal 1 | Car Park B, Economy | 7 to 9 minutes |
| Terminal 2 | Car Park A, Premium | 3 to 5 minutes |
| Terminal 2 | Car Park B, Economy | 10 to 12 minutes |
| Terminal 3 | All levels | 2 to 3 minutes |
Use the car park of the terminal where your guest lands. Our Terminal 3 guide and Terminal 1 guide show what the hall looks like. Terminal 2 is a separate building reached from Al Twar Road and Rashidiya.
How much does short-stay parking cost?
These are the tariffs on the Dubai Airports parking page. Dubai Airports lists no free minutes, and the page can change, so confirm before you drive.
| Car park | Short stay | Up to 4 hours | 1 day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 Car Park A | AED 5 for 5 min, 15 for 15, 30 for 30 | AED 65 | AED 125 |
| Terminal 1 Car Park B | AED 25 for 1 hr | AED 45 | AED 85 |
| Terminal 2 Car Park A | AED 30 for 1 hr | AED 65 | AED 125 |
| Terminal 2 Car Park B | AED 15 for 1 hr | AED 30 | AED 70 |
| Terminal 3 | AED 5 for 5 min, 15 for 15, 30 for 30 | AED 65 | AED 125 |
Premium car parks and Terminal 3 charge AED 40 up to 2 hours and AED 55 up to 3. A flight that lands two hours late means two more hours on the meter. Our Dubai parking guide covers parking across the city.
You pay by scanning the QR code on your ticket, at an automatic pay station before you return to the car, or with Salik, which deducts the fee when you exit if the balance is enough.
Can you wait at the kerb or in the drop-off lane?
Not to collect someone. Arrivals has no pick-up area. The drop-off areas are on the Departures level near the terminal entrances, and they carry a time limit. We found no official fine amount, so we do not quote one.

The practical answer is the car park. Park, walk to the arrivals hall and wait there. Your guest comes out of the customs doors into the same hall.
How do you know when your guest has cleared customs?
Start with the flight status on the Dubai Airports website or the airline. Landing is not the moment to leave the car park. After landing your guest still needs the airport train if the gate requires it, passport control, the baggage belt and customs.
Smart Gates are open to eligible visitors with biometric passports, but Dubai Airports sends families with children to staffed counters. A family arriving to visit relatives is the slowest case. Our UAE family visit visa guide explains what those relatives should carry.
Ask your guest to message you from the baggage belt. Waiting times vary, and there is no published average.
When is sending a chauffeur easier than driving yourself?
Send a driver when:
- the flight lands late at night, which our late-night arrivals guide covers;
- the flight is delayed or its time keeps changing;
- the group has several large bags;
- your guest has never been to Dubai.
An Assure chauffeur tracks the flight number, waits in the arrivals hall holding a name board and walks your guest to the car. Your quote states how long the chauffeur waits after landing, and our guide to airport pickup delays and waiting time explains how it works.
Book the DXB airport transfer or ask for a car with driver for the rest of the day. The chauffeur service page covers hourly hire. For the airports beyond Dubai, see our guide to every UAE airport.
