What is the right order to plan a Dubai trip from India?
Plan in this order, because each step limits the next one:
- Visa route and passport check.
- Flights into Dubai International (DXB) or another UAE airport.
- Where to stay.
- Airport pickup, with terminal and flight number.
- Days out: a city day, a desert evening, Abu Dhabi.
- Return transfer and departure terminal.
We do not sell flights or hotels. We run steps 4 to 6, and we can help you with the visa as a secondary service. This guide is deliberately not a package: you choose each piece.
Step 1: check your visit visa route first
A UAE visit visa is an entry permit for tourism or a visit. ICP issues it through its Smart Services Platform, and Dubai-issued visas also go through GDRFA Dubai. Which route applies to you, how long it lasts and what it costs depend on your passport, your travel history and your airline, and the rules change. We do not quote fees here.
Before you pay for anything else, check that your passport has enough validity left and that your visa dates cover your whole stay. Our page on the UAE visit visa from India has the current checklist. Until it is published, ask us on WhatsApp and we will point you to the official source.
Step 2: flights and your arrival terminal
Dubai International has three passenger terminals, and which one you use depends on your airline and booking. Check your ticket, not just the airline name, and share your flight number so the driver tracks the landing time.

If you land at Terminal 3, our Terminal 3 arrivals guide shows the walk from passport control to the meeting point. Everything you need on the other side of immigration is covered in arriving in Dubai on a visit visa.
Step 3: choose where to stay
Your area decides your daily drive. Downtown and Business Bay are central. Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah are about 45 minutes to 1 hour from Dubai International in typical traffic. Deira and Bur Dubai are the closest to the airport and the Gold Souk. Our guide on where to stay in Dubai compares them.

Step 4: book the airport pickup
A DXB airport transfer means a chauffeur waits in the arrivals hall with your name on a board and tracks your flight. For a family with 4 to 6 bags, ask for a van or an SUV rather than a sedan, and list the number of people and the bags in your first message. Some vehicles come from partners rather than our own fleet, subject to availability.
Step 5: pick two or three days out
A first-time plan from India usually fills like this:

- Day 1: rest, then the Dubai Creek and Gold Souk area in the evening.
- Day 2: Downtown, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, then the fountain show after dark.
- Day 3: a desert safari with a pickup from the hotel.
- Day 4: Abu Dhabi for Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, about 140 km each way by road (typical figure from a mapping service).
Browse our private tours for the options we run. If cricket is the reason for the trip, read getting to the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Step 6: when to go
November to March is the cool season. June to September is hot. December adds National Day on 2 and 3 December and the Dubai Shopping Festival from 4 December 2026, so book cars and tours early. Month by month detail is in the best time to visit Dubai.
Step 7: the return transfer
Book the return pickup before you leave home, with the hotel pickup time and your departure terminal. Allow time for the road to Dubai International, longer in the evening, and for check-in at your airline’s terminal. The Dubai travel guide links the rest of the planning in one place.
